Mooncup (as seen on a Veggie Nugget thread near you...)

We're all in this together, remember, so while the world is collapsing around our ears it might be nice to have a place to talk about new-found frugalities and old-fashioned eco-living. And mooncups.

I saw that! It was...well...words fail me!

I had the problem today like you cc that I could feel it. I've virtually cut the whole stem off but could feel the bit that's left, then by this evening it'd fallen right down. But I'm assuming it's just that I need more practice positioning it, so it's not much help to you.

I'm really hoping I get the hang of it soon because I already love it!

Not sure about which brand you're using, but the Diva Cup comes in two sizes: pre- and post-baby. Perhaps you need a bigger size? Regardless of your method of birthing, a pregnancy can really change things down there.

I'm 5'10 and so always had the bigger size - even then it virtually has no stem left (even pre babies!).

If it is slipping, part of it is positioning, part a reminder to get squeezing that pelvic floor.

I have the bigger size of mooncup, I bought it in the inter-baby years, prompted by this thread somewhere in it's long history!

Well, it's so far prompted me to check out a local gym and personal training (I didn't think my pelvic floor was bad, but my lower back has never really recovered from the PGP). Got to do something, I managed to use Lilets comfortably this week, but they weren't quite right and there was at least one mortifyingly embarrassing moment at a spa

Every time this thread comes back it makes me want to try the mooncup more and more...So now as I made a decision to get one and actually did some reading on their website I found that there might be a problem when having IUD. I am pretty sure this was discussed on here previously but this thread is so long I just can't read it all.
Any of you out there using mooncup with IUD? Any problems? The website advises to go to GP to discuss it, did you? What did you say and what was doctor's advice?
I really want one especially that I have heavy periods and it could save me lots of money and hassle, but with IUD in I'm not sure I can use it...

Arsing buggers. Just found a reason to hate my moon cup: it's in London and I'm in Portugal. Stupid bloody (or not) thing. Why is this the first time my period is bang on four weeks and it's the first time my child's poxy pox have stopped me being home in time?

It's midnight and poor old mrC is out searching for a late night chemist while I lie on a cheap beach towel and hate the world. Last resort will be cutting up a nappy I guess. The indignity. Nobody bloody well laugh. Grrr.

I use my cup with my IUD. I think the concern is that if things line up just so, the cup could tug on the IUD strings and dislodge it. From hearsay on the internet, this is very rare. Maybe have your doctor check that your IUD strings are nice and short, like 1 cm, and then your risk should be very low.

When I had my coil fitted the doctor said there was sometimes an issue with tampons pulling it out (dry tampon, strings getting tangled in the cotton wool) so I asked about the mooncup and she said there shouldn't be a problem.

Come on ladies, we shouldn't be getting excited about AFs arrival, it's just not on. And yet you've now got me researching CSP (in case of leakage) and ordering washable breast pads and cloth wipes in pretty designs. Is this what people mean by crunchy? I'm also a blw-ing, baby wearing mama, although still can't quite bring myself to going down the cloth nappy route just yet.

Well if you forget about it and boil the pan dry it'll still work perfectly...
