just creeping in here

Cloth nappies, disposies, potty training... the inevitable result of BLW. What goes in, must come out.

Molly is starting to notice when she's had a wee and poo so we have gone out and bought a potty. Big problem she doesn't like walking around with no nappy. Tried to sit her on the potty bare bum and she freaked. Happily sit on it with a nappy though

How can I encourage her to sit bare bum

Maybe try it before or after bath time, when she'd already normally be naked?

Or just let her sit on it with the diaper for now while she gets used to the idea of it.

We are going through the exact same thing. Solved the walking round bare bum thing by letting her wear knickers which she loves. Negotiated having to sit bare bummed on potty by saying she has to if she wants to wear knickers, plus me sitting behind her with potty between my legs so I can sort of cuddle her while she sits there, plus a new set of "bare bummed potty only" Postman Pat books. I did have to cuddle her quite hard to get her to stay the first time (I was planning to stop if she cried but she didn't ).

I'm only two days ahead of you so you now have the full extent of my potty training expertise. Good luck!

Make sure it's not cold! I figured out that was Saurus's problem when we got one with a fuzzy seat cover. We also made a potty desk (out of a diaper box ;) ) with a really distracting toy on it that he could only play with sitting on the potty. Lots of buttons and flashing lights and music. He loved it.
Saurus (April 2012) wants to open all the cupboards to see the pipes.
Zilla (December 2013) is unstoppable. And really likes pizza.
Turtle (November 2015) isn't cute yet, but he's working on it.
And Mia and Oreo are my emotional support cats.

Well still no success....

Still refuses to sit on potty or toilet. However she did tell me today she needed to do a poo so she obviously knows when she needs a wee or a poo. I offered her the chance to sit on potty or toilet and she refused. 2 mins later she had pooed in her nappy and asked to be changed. So the knowledge is there..its just encouraging her to do something about it.

Sad to say we were here for a year :scream it only changed after 3 weeks in preescholl this May, "conviniently" the night befire going on vacation/holidays "Mummy I want to sit on the toilet". And surprisingly he did a poo! Has only repeated that once after but the potty happes every day w me, but not DH. What came out as the incentive for change was that his new best friend at preschool was using the toilet, and while away, his cousin (5yrs) that he got to follow to the bathroom.

The best chanse I'd say to lure them to wee/pee on the potty is first thing in the morning if they haven't gone in diaper/nappy, serve water to get some more push and distract with toys/tv or ipad etc to have them sit long enough, just to make it happen a few times. And of cours seeing older /other kids using it.
Hope you have better luck than we did!
