And we're off!

Cloth nappies, disposies, potty training... the inevitable result of BLW. What goes in, must come out.

She was sitting on the potty (alternating between giggling and crying) for about 45 minutes last night before we noticed the dribble of poo and offered her a nappy for a few mins before bath. She really didn't want take her nappy off this morning either.

We've got a (pink, obvs) pottete seat for the loo. She has declined the offer of using it. Or sitting on the loo without it.

We'll see how it goes today! She's at nursery, so lots of lovely peer pressure. And she knows there's chocolate on offer for results.

Lily, we went from rewards every time to just for results, th en just for poosat home or anything out, then just out and, last but not least standing up wees in the park! Sounds long but at one chocolate raisin a time it didn't matter.

Good luck all.

She did OK at nursery yesterday, and even did a wee on me (on the skirt I'd just changed into to go out, obviously) when she got home! Very grumpy this morning (about everything, not just pants), but we'll see how she does at nursery again today.

I've decided to knock pt training on the head for a wee while after dd pee'd and poo'ed all over a dining chair on Fri night. We've been doing the 'no pressure, wee on the potty and wear pants when we are at home' for a month now and she still has no idea when she needs to go. I am getting so fed up cleaning up accidents, I don't want my frustrations to show so I am giving it a rest for the time being til the weather gets warmer! How is Courgette doing?

So LO did not take well to going back on nappies - she is now asking for it off - at playgroup last Tuesday and first thing in the morning after wearing it at night, AND she is trying (sometimes not always) to get to the potty in time if she needs a wee. This is big progress for us after over a month in pants! How os Courgette getting on? And all your other potty trainees?

We've given up for now - it was all too much, with a week of virus on top of the broken arm. We have been saying he'll wear pants once the cast comes off, but it remains to be seen what'll happen when we actually reach that point. I know he's capable of staying dry now, but just not sure how much he'll resist the actual fact of no nappy.

Bit of a breakthrough yesterday, maybe???

We were at a church thing in the park. C was on my back, getting more and more agitated. I said "you need a wee, don't you?", which she denied, took her over by a tree, pulled her skirt up a bit, and ginormous wee on the grass (with a bit of leg/foot cleaning but that's fine). So far so good.

About an hour later SHE ASKED TO WEE!!!! Same place, same deal. Then again later. Then at home, we had one on the floor and two more in the garden by a tree.

So, firstly, she did lots of wees, some of which weren't ginormous held in for several hours ones. And she told us she needed to go, held it in till we got to the tree, and then let go.

Not sure how nursery is going to go today - weeing on their AstroTurf isn't going to be great - but we can do more standing up tree wees tomorrow :D

Lol at the lack of absorbency of AstroTurf! Well done courgette and big cats LO!

I really need to take the plunge and see what happens with no nappy. After 1 successful poo on the potty he hasn't done any more even when asked and offered a present. And FIL's cream carpet is staring up at me! Maybe next weekend when daddy is home...

Nursery have been (successfully) getting her to wee in the shower. Hurrah! 4 weeks of very limited awake nappy time, and she's pretty much got the hang of all of it except the actual potty bit, for wee at least, on the space of two days. So we'll get her to wee on the grass / in the shower for a bit, then see if we can get the potty on the grass and take it from there.

How's everyone else doing?

Posting on another thread reminded me I need to update this.

We've progressed from weeing on the grass to standing over a potty on the grass to standing over a potty inside to sitting on a potty inside. Woohoo!

Still to do: poos are still done in nappies (which go on for nap and overnight), she's doing lots of little wees (which is much preferable to withholding - just need to find a happy medium!), and she isn't happy on a toilet / pottete yet.

Well we've made a start! Moo has been refusing the idea of doing anything on the potty, except he does a wee on it before bed. Was constipated the last couple of days so I wasn't even suggesting it just wanted him to poo. But today he saw the chocolate raisins I'd got as rewards, I told him what they were for, and later on he took his nappy off. Still said he didn't want the potty, but when I reminded him of the raisins he did about 6 wees on it in10 mins! Need to calm that down but touch wood no accidents and he was super excited to put on pants to go out to see the horses nearby before bed. Also had no nappy during dinner and did a good sized wee after on the potty... Spoke too soon, weed in his pants as we were getting ready for the bath. He definitely didn't like the feel so hopefully it will reinforce using the potty. And we need to get him on the potty more frequently. Do I go for it at toddler group tomorrow or wait till he's got it at home? Hope everyone else is doing ok.

How's it going yp?

I am starting to get a bit frustrated. Before he broke his arm, Izbiz was telling me when he needed a wee or poo. He was still in nappies, but capable of staying clean and dry all day. He's now been in pants for a week, and will happily wee on the potty on demand, but totally refuses to tell me when he needs to go. In fact he will attempt to conceal accidents, and try to prevent me from noticing when he's having a poo. So we're stuck on an average of 3-4 accidents per day, all totally dependent on me escorting him to the loo at the right moments. We made a star chart with rewards for telling me, but nothing doing yet. This is normal, right? Reassure me that he'll get it!

Normal. Take him every twenty mins or so until he gets so fed up he starts to tell you! Took us a week for wees and longer for poos.

Ok, good to know. What's annoying is that he was telling me before, and now he's not. I think if I take him every 20 mins the day will just be one long tantrum but I will try to take him more frequently than I have been doing.
