potty training woes

Cloth nappies, disposies, potty training... the inevitable result of BLW. What goes in, must come out.

So you might want to take him every 2 hours rather than every half hour, if that's how often it takes to keep him dry. Or you might find there are certain times like after meals or something.

Yes, we have lengthened to every 60 mins or so depending on how long since a last wee. We are all fumbling here.

Taking DD every hour works best for us, or it's when I start getting twitchy...

Just one poo accident today. All wees on loo. Seems taking him every two hours is enough. He still couldn't tell me he needs to wee but he's getting the hang of actually letting the wee out. Yippee. He earned his peppa sodding pig bag. He's pretty happy. And I am thrilled. Fingers crossed it wasn't a fluke.

We used to refer to her as DP, to hide who were we're talking about. There are a lot of words D can stand for lol.

Yey for Puppy too. SM found her training pants today, but she doesn't understand they're not nappies so wees in them. I'm just happy to use them up as they're Huggies pull ups or something which someone donated. I don't think they'll work for that very reason but if she wants to wear them that's ok with me. Maybe I should let her wear them after she's had her daily poo and just sit her on the potty every hour or so. We're not actively potty training by the way, just letting her get on with it as and when she wants lol. Lazy parenting or baby led patenting

The puppy has been in pull ups for about a year. We used them as nappies as they're so much easier to get on and off. People at naty probably think we are the slowest trainers in the world.if we are still buying them after a year.

Re: potty training woes - update

Postby mamapup » 06 Feb 2015, 22:45

So we are ten days in. Wee accidents seem to have finished...on our watch, still the odd one at nursery. But the last two days the puppy really seems to have begun to understand his body. He can wee on demand now, yesterday he asked to go for a.poo at nursery but didn't make it in time. Today he took himself off for a.wee twice between our two hourly visits.

We are so impressed and proud. I never expected him to be so compliant. Now if only I'd just bought plain pants so we.didn't have rage when spider man page to aren't clean!

Oh no mp, rookie error!

We go bulk packs on a theme so at least there's always one of that kind. We've just gone up a size and I spent four weeks and three shopping centres looking for those in munchers size, the only other choice was licensed and I am never going there.

Yup. Rookie error indeed, except we followed the advice to let him choose pants. We have Thomas, spider man and peppa. He chose, he now doesnt like peppa pants and doesn't have enough spider man. Argh. I hate being so proud and then having to force pants on him!

We are lucky, the licensed pants are usually around the corner from the bulk packs so I get away with letting him choose!

I am now however having a sew him a cape as he is all about superheroes having for superhero undies last week.
