Fruity dinner-party dessert?

Post them up and every so often I'll snaffle them and put them on the blog, if that's okay? It'll save you the trouble of emailing them to me. (It will mean you lose out on our charming personal interaction but I sense you can live with that.)

Fruity dinner-party dessert?

Anyone have a good recipe for an impressive dinner-party dessert that isn't too sugary? It needs to be suitable for babies. I'm thinking something fruit-based, maybe a variant on trifle or something like that.

What about fruit kebabs and chocolate sauce?

Had a really nice cheesecake at the weekend http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/lemoncheesecake_65665 in my head it was fairly healthy but just looked up the recipe, you could maybe reduce the sugar!

Ooo, fruit kebabs and chocolate sauce sounds very posh!

I was going to suggest key lime pie. It's easy, it's tangy rather than sweet, and you don't see it often on this side of the pond so it still seems a bit exotic.

One of my favourite desserts is a dead simple trifle with layers of angel food cake from a boxed mix, freshly whipped cream, vanilla pudding, and kiwis/strawberries/blueberries. Simple, but so good and looks lovely and fresh. I leave the sugar out of the whipped cream, and I'm sure you could find a low-sugar vanilla pudding recipe online...
