meal planning sharing

Post them up and every so often I'll snaffle them and put them on the blog, if that's okay? It'll save you the trouble of emailing them to me. (It will mean you lose out on our charming personal interaction but I sense you can live with that.)

I should be on commission for slow cookers and soup makers, one of my friends was so keen to try a sc chicken after I spoke about ours the other day, that she stopped on the way home to get a sc! I have sent her my list of fave sc recipes, if anyone else wants it, pm me your email address.

Totally uninspired for this week and need to plan before doing food shop tomorrow. Argh.
We had soya burgers, steamed veg and salad tonight. Kids ate the bread and nothing else despite liking the burgers generally.
Yesterday we had tofu.and veg noodle stir fry.

Trying to eat a lot less meat at the moment.

I am all about the pie this week. Made a yummy chicken and leek pie yesterday which was so yummy. Had it as leftovers for today's dinner too. Veg box coking tomorrow, so the rest of the week will probably involve bangers and mash, chicken of some sort, and hopefully some nice fish.

Dh is (probably) working late nights all week and won't be home for dinners, so L and I are having a combination of leftovers, easy to cook meals, and things dh doesn't like. On our menu is:

Leftovers from tacos dh cooked up yesterday
Baked potatoes
Fish (which dh won't eat)
Lentil curry in the crock pot (dh would eat some of this but usually prefers not to have much beans/lentils)

Last night we had slow cooker chicken and spinach curry
Tonight is pork stir fry with noodles
Tomorrow fajitas
Thursday no idea, maybe Spag bol, we haven't had that in a bit
Fri we go in holiday with MIL and her bf and I think she's making a meat and tatty pie.

Wednesday is quick no oven vegetarian shepherds pie with sweet potato topping.
Thursday is low carb spinach fritters with tahini pinto beans.
Friday is venison or veggie sausage with red cabbage with apples.
Saturday is either pasta or courg-etti with vegetarian mince.

Pookiecub how do you make no oven shepherds pie??

We also have no plan this week, forgot to do online shop, missed the deadline for the A&C boxes and generally can't be bothered.
I did find some beef in the freezer so making beef and aubergine curry in the sc today.

I use quorn mince (my husband is vegetarian, I am not) but I fry onions and lots of fine chopped mushrooms together, add the mince, and whatever herbs, spices etc I feel like. Cooked completely in the skillet.

Using sweet potato for the topping gives the oven baked taste potatoes get, without having to put oven on. You can top with cheese and grill for a while if you like to crisp it up! Takes so much less time.

I suppose technically "Shepherdess Pie" since its vegetarian!

I'm struggling this week. I can't get to the butcher or fishmonger during the week while I'm at work so DH normally goes but he hasn't been able to this week either, so we've been winging it a bit and buying bits and bobs from the Co-Op instead which I don't really like to do. Last went to the butcher on Friday and our menu since then has been:

Friday: Cottage Pie
Saturday: Roast Chicken & Veggies
Sunday: Roast Beef
Monday: Thai Curry (with leftover chicken)
Tues: Fajitas
Weds: Might grab some mince and make burgers
Thurs and beyond.... no idea.

Well, having made up the meal plan as I typed the other day everything got set back a day as I went to my friends and she brought out a shepherds pie for us. Win!!!
