Whats for Dinner?

Post them up and every so often I'll snaffle them and put them on the blog, if that's okay? It'll save you the trouble of emailing them to me. (It will mean you lose out on our charming personal interaction but I sense you can live with that.)

Whats for Dinner?

Postby catie_lou » 07 Jul 2014, 16:10

Thought I would ask what is for dinner as I am back cooking after school again due to a shift swap.

My go to's normally involve bung it in the oven or reheat from freezer. I have been perusing past threads and realised we eat very plainly. Meat & two veg, bolognase, chips & beans, with nuggets, sausage, fish fingers, stew, soup (tinned tomato). I am looking to expand my recipe book/meal planner

I have lifted the chicken & bacon casserole from a previous thread http://www.babyledweaning.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=36684&hilit=dinner.

So What are you having for dinner?

Chicken pie, mashed potato, baked beans, mushrooms amd mixed veg. And gravy for those who want it!

Look forward to reading others' replies as I could do with an expanded repertoire too!

We had risotto. One of my regular staples and good for a boy who's finally sprouting his first canine tooth. I also need to get out of my rut! Thinking about getting a veg box to kick me into some variety.

I've just eaten but am getting hungry again reading this thread! We had a delicious but unusual tea - slow cooked beef brisket which I'd done in the slow cooker yesterday with onions, carrots and red wine. I sliced the beef, reheated it in the reduced stock, and served it sort- of Chinese style with noodles, pakchoi and courgettes. Yum! Usually beans on toast or curry from a jar so was a lovely treat.

We had BLTs for lunch and are having pork souvlaki and potato salad for dinner. I'm planning to try a new recipe this week that I'm excited about: Chicken, Roasted Red Pepper, and Goat Cheese Lasagne.
