Cake question - eta freezing question

Post them up and every so often I'll snaffle them and put them on the blog, if that's okay? It'll save you the trouble of emailing them to me. (It will mean you lose out on our charming personal interaction but I sense you can live with that.)

Cake question - eta freezing question

Postby Den » 19 May 2014, 17:58

Just wondering if anyone can help -I'm making a sponge in a 33cm roasting tin and wondering if 4 egg mix will be enough or if I will need more?

I use a 4-egg mixture in my 30x22cm traybake tin. So I reckon you'll need a bit more for your tin.

Freezing sponge cake?

Postby Den » 19 May 2014, 22:02

Sorry another question I need to freeze the cake which is something I have never done before, google shows many different ways to do this. Would it be ok in an airtight container or is it best to wrap it up instead or do both? See I really have no idea and have got to somehow find room for it in the freezer which is why I think the container might be better.

I usually freeze cakes in freezer bags, but I'm sure an airtight container would work just fine.

I'm going to make a cake later this week and freeze it for a couple of hours wrapped tightly in cling film. Good luck with your Grandpa Pig's Boat cake. :)
