slow cooker ribs?

Someone gave us some spare ribs and I'm cooking them tomorrow for some friends. They won't fit in my oven (which is one of those glorified toaster affairs and not very useful) so I'm thinking of chopping them up and putting them in the slow cooker. Anyone ever done that? Anyone got a good recipe?

I love the my daddy cooks ribs on the websie i think you could do them in the slow cooker. if possible i would try and put them in the oven/grill them at the end just for a few mins as this will make them sticky.

My book has a slow cooker ribs recipe. I've done the MDC ribs lots & they ar efab!!

Brilliant, Cailindeas, I have all those ingredients! (would have done the MDC one but couldn't find oyster sauce)

It's going in the cooker as soon as T wakes up to do the baking soda bit.

They were delicious, and thank goodness for the slow cooker! Sandydad didn't get home until the last of the guests were leaving. The new minister arrived early to find me surrounded by kids (T invited the neighbours in - she's worked out how to open the front door) and the place in complete chaos and nothing done except the ribs. Eventually my friend and her husband turned up and tidied up while I finished making salads and cooking rice and the men talked (who says women do all the talking? They SO don't!). I don't know what the minister made of it all but hopefully the ribs went some way to make up for it!
