What have I let myself in for???!!!! FINNISHED!!!

Because BLW isn't just for lentil-weavers. Some of us like to piddle about with bits of felt and sticky-backed plastic as well.

Soooooo, a few years ago, I quipped to a work colleague that "of course I can make your wedding and bridesmaid dresses".

Now I have to make good! Thank the maker she has bought the 3 dresses for the grown ups but 2 dinky bridesmaid dresses and a wedding dress is on order! Bridesmaids are fine - satin sleeveless top, sash and flowers round the middle, tulle skirt. Easy.

Wedding dress. Oh, lordy! Fitted, corseted, strapless top, tulle skirt, beading, possible bolero............

Shit!

Wedding in August.

Not so terrified now! She'd found a dress which was making me more than a little scared but, after a try on yesterday, there is another one which looks soooooo fantastic.

And by some miricle (and some lovely ladies on another forum - only being slightly unfaithful - it's one for sewing!!!) I have found the perfect pattern for it! It's still going to be a heck of a job and there is a small alteration to make to the waistline, but I have a proper pattern to follow and don't have to try and invent it!

Very very happy!!!

It is all done (pretty much!!! - buttons and a loop to do!)

It has been an epic marathon! But, with the exception of having a minor meltdown over the asymmetric waistline, I've really enjoyed making the dresses! My skills have been tested and I've learnt quite a lot along the way but it's been busy and fun!!!!

I'll post some pics after the wedding but the bride is happy, the mother cried and the bridesmaids did lots of swishing and twirling. So I took all that as a good sign!!

The wedding is in a couple of weeks so obviously I've got time to make the fairies a dress each for the big day too!!!
