Handmade Christmas 2013

Because BLW isn't just for lentil-weavers. Some of us like to piddle about with bits of felt and sticky-backed plastic as well.

YAY!

I found Hama bead coasters to be a big hit for quick thank-you presents/last-minute birthday presents, and it's great having something Jacob can help with.

So I'm going to be making loads of them for Christmas :D

I had a look through my Christmas pinterest board yesterday and I'm going to start present planning now. I made loads of decorations last year and as I'm now unemployed, I was wondering about starting to make them in bulk and do some Christmas craft fairs to give me some extra spending money at Christmas.

I'm so looking forward to this year, last year rolled around through the newborn fug and I ended the day in floods of tears, so I'd quite like this one to be a bit less stressful!

I read this as 'start a card' and I was thinking "Why is it going to take you 10 months to make a card?!" :D

Thank you for waiting until (the day) after my birthday to talk about Christmas. Otherwise it would have been soooooo wrong.

I don't make any of my Christmas stuff (as I am the least crafty person EVER), but I am going to the Phoenix Christmas launch next week, to see all the original artworks and Christmas products. It all goes on sale on 1st August... I'm sooooo excited already!

And I love reading your crafty threads, and crafting vicariously through you lot :D

I'm in! I haven't made a list but I have lots of supplies as I think Bruno may have the odd crafting day with me over the holidays & I'd like to stock up ready. I just need to do a stock take....

Re Hama beads.... Bruno has never done these. Are they aimed at younger children or is he ripe for them?

Dilly loves Hama beads, Elsie's a bit little yet, and Martha still likes doing them although I obviously didn't say that out loud  I think Bruno would love them.

I've not thought about Christmas yet, I've not even decided what I'm doing for the summer swap yet :?

I like the idea of Hama coasters - simple & useful! I shall research stars & baubles online!!

Other things on the present making list:

Baubles (knitted by me, stickers on kinder eggs by Bruno)
Votive holders (knitted cosy by me & painted glass by Bruno)

I'm in, I've got a list of ideas saved on my phone that I add to when inspiration strikes. Things like quilted mug rugs, homemade granola in pretty jars, and decorated mugs all packaged up together. I'm trying to do an entirely handmade Christmas this year. Just not sure where I'll find the time though...

And TF, thank you for reminding me. Must pull my finger out and start the summer swap!
