Completed Projects July

Because BLW isn't just for lentil-weavers. Some of us like to piddle about with bits of felt and sticky-backed plastic as well.

I have 21 chains on a hook. And they're hardly twisted at all. AND they're all reasonably similar in size.
I am very proud.

I was sure you were a crocheter already? No?

I have made Froglet a really, really funky (if I do say so myself!) pair of cropped trousers this afternoon. They were supposed to be shorts - I got bored not being able to find shorts for little girls that aren't daisy dukes. Sigh. Anyway, I found some incredibly retro fabric for sale today - I love it. I must go back and get more. I made an arse of the waistband - not sure why as I'm pretty sure I did what I always do when making trousers. I added a made-up-on-the-spot waistband to hide the damage and it actually makes the trousers even better.

I'm ridiculously pleased with myself  :D

Not really. I've tried a few times but never ally got the hang of it. This time something seems to have clicked :D

The trousers sound really cool! I started making a pair for Dilly this afternoon, but ran out of thread :(

Teacher presents finished :D Dilly help me make FOZza's brownies, and I made little zippered pouch bags out of leftover rulers fabric. Dilly wrote lovely labels out, they say "I love you, thank you for teaching me, love from Dylan" His own choice of words, so sweet.

Just posted up images of the teacher gifts I helped Mattie make. Led by me, but with her art work/writing. Pics in the Flickr group.

Svea, those bags are fab! How did you make them? (Also asked on Flickr!). Did you buy them printed or do the printing using iron on paper?

I am going to pinch this idea as its such a good one! No one can ever have enough shopping / tote bags!

Plain tote bags and dylon fabric pens from eBay. Draw blue lines and one red line to replicate note paper. A quilting ruler helps- I drew them 1/2 inch apart. Then let Mattie draw and write on them with a soft pencil, then I traced over her marks with a black pen. Iron and done.

Yes they did turn out very effective. I added notebooks wrapped in apple wrapping paper also from eBay. An apple for the teacher and all that. Ideas totally stolen from Pinterest, obviously :)
