Fabric opinions

Because BLW isn't just for lentil-weavers. Some of us like to piddle about with bits of felt and sticky-backed plastic as well.

Fabric opinions

I am going to make some buttercup bags for a craft fayre but wondering if patterns are a good way to go. For example I have some navy fabric with white polka dots. Too much for a bag?

Or I might just do them plain colours on the outside & with patterned linings.

Any thoughts?

I think a simple polka dot fabric would be great, but also cool for a lining, why not do some of each?

I would do a combination of both of those, but only do one of each pattern so that they are individual, I personally would choose a plain with a patterned inner but I know plenty of people who would go the other way.

That's the thing, I'd always go for plain so can never decide if there are people out there who would want patterns!!

Our long term idea is to have a website with the fabrics on so people can choose exactly what combo they want but for now I'll just have to decide what I think looks ok :)

I started making sil one in plain black outer with a tattoo fabric lining but then decided she would propably turn her nose up at a homemade gift, it looked nice anyway, I might finish it and keep it for me.

I think polka dots would be really nice on the outside too

Me too, I love a pattern, especially polka dot.

I'd choose plain with patterned lining. Definitely do some of both.

Just googled buttercup bag. They are lovely! I have bookmarked the page!
I'd go for plain with pattern lining.
