Jewellery Making Question

Jewellery Making Question

Postby AB&M » 19 May 2013, 12:51

Hi

Seeing as I had some lovely beads in my crafty creatives box this month, I think I will make some earrings. I used to do so a long time ago... Except I can't remember what sort of wire I need to thread the beads on. Head pins? Eye pins? These names mean nothing to me (I've been browsing Hobbycraft's website!).

Head pins! Longer, lighter ones are easier to bend I find.

It depends what you want to do, head pins if the bead is just going onto one thing, but if you want to make a chain of several, use eye pins, then you can make chains into bracelets/ necklaces too. You will need to make sure that the holes in the beads aren't too big for the headpin, if they are, thread on a smaller bead or a bead cap first. Take a look at the pics on my fb page, I will be happy to explain how to do any of them if you want.
