Taking in pants help

Because BLW isn't just for lentil-weavers. Some of us like to piddle about with bits of felt and sticky-backed plastic as well.

Taking in pants help

Postby StJuniper » 08 May 2013, 14:38

So I bought P a little suit for SILs wedding this Friday and the pants are like sails. I'm taking them in an inch on each side, which leaves quite a bit of fabric to fold up inside. Wondering if any sewers could suggest what they would do-- leave as is or cut away some of the excess fabric and do a new hem. It's a pretty cheap polyester and I don't want to just trim it without securing it somehow because it looks like the fabric would be a beast for unraveling if cut.

Hope I explained myself clearly. I'm working with a sewing machine, pretty novice seamstress so don't want to attempt anything too complicated. TIA!
