encourage me...

Because BLW isn't just for lentil-weavers. Some of us like to piddle about with bits of felt and sticky-backed plastic as well.

tbf I don't think there's a massive market for self portraits unless you're famous!

you should both do it. robyn, you look stunning to the camera, what are you ashamed off/nervous about? just look at your wedding photos! wear a big smile and everything else will fall into place, telly wise or otherwise. :)

my wedding pics were five years ago...five years of too many biscuits and not enough sleep...I would be angry with myself if I let that stop me though, and I'll be pg...hopefully the bump would distract.
Thanks BM, I think I'm fine for work to send them.

You are still as stunning and have that big smile. Who could resist those dimples?
(Well, from what I remember from the last Coram's meet we both attended) xx

Did you submit it Disco? I just submitted something, but its a bit rubbish so I don't think they'll be asking me in. drawing a self portrait is waaaaay harder than drawing a portrait!

It's about a year since I saw you in person but, personally, I think you are gorgeous - you have such a warm and inviting smile to top off the whole English Rose thing.

Do it!

I did apply. I was agonising over which self portrait for a bit, still not sure I made the right choice.. Then the website was messing me about and I had to fill out the form and reload the pictures 3 times ARG! Oh and my mind went blank when it asked for anything else to support the application.. really blank. so blank I left the box blank.

Conversely I think I prefer doing self portraits. I feel freeer to mess it up. My drawings/paintings often come out a bit warped, And I don't mind making paintings of myself look quite ugly, whereas I'd be embarrassed if it was some one elses face. Well I'll need to get over that if I get into the heats... tiny tiny chance

Have either of you thought of submitting work to crafty creatives i know that I (& a few others here that get the boxes) would probably die of excitement if a box arrived with an art card by someone I 'know'

Just wanted to say Good Luck to you both and also to Robyn, try to put aside the lack of confidence and think what a brilliant role model you are to the girls to go for it despite your fears. I find reminding myself what my girls will learn from my behaviour/actions/achievements is very good motivation!
