Summer swap chat...

Because BLW isn't just for lentil-weavers. Some of us like to piddle about with bits of felt and sticky-backed plastic as well.

I've just it back from buying what I needed, now just need to figure out a couple of little bits before I start.

I'm assuming if i've had to buy a whole something, but I'm only using a part of the thing it's ok to pro rata the cost for the £5 budget? If not my swopee will be getting 3/4 of a finished gift!

I think mine might be taking shape, dh was completely useless wrt giving encouragement/ making positive noises, but I like the idea so I'm sticking with it. Almost 2 of many complete... May change my mind as it goes on, and will have to make it for myself. I hope it's ok.

Ive done that and just counted part cost as the rest goes into my craft stash. I've also taken a somewhat 'relaxed' conversion of pounds into dollars to make sure I can get what I need...

I'm still dithering over whether to rush to finish before I go on holiday, which means posting early, or taking it with me to finish, which means either posting from abroad or bringing it home again and missing the deadline. It's easily portable but finishing it over there would mean doing some bits in a more labour-intensive way, without the equipment I have at home.

What's worse - a few late nights now, or faffing about on holiday?

Yay, I've made a start! So happy, now I just have to hunt out some supplies for the main bulk of it in my cupboard and then its all go, go, go!

Well, I am almost finished the main parts of my swap. I wanted to finish it last week but I needed to order something from eBay. It arrived really quickly but I have just gone to finish the pieces and they have sent me one metre instead of two. Gah! Should have been finished in less than an hour. I wanted it finished today as I am off to NI next week and am fast running out of holiday days when Froglet is at nursery!

Ah well. I have a craft list as long as my arm. I'm sure I'll manage to keep myself amused today :D

This is being a lifesaver for me. Forcing me to do something which I have to concentrate on and enjoy is just what I need right now. Thank you all. I really hope my swappee's like it now.

I'm sure they will Eli!

I have scrapped my idea..it just wasn't coming along as I planned, so onto plan b which is more predictable but I want it to be nice and I think it fits with what my swappee said in her questionnaire much better. :?

I know this has been asked before, but when is the deadline? I have no idea what your "August bank holiday" is.
