Summer swap chat...

Because BLW isn't just for lentil-weavers. Some of us like to piddle about with bits of felt and sticky-backed plastic as well.

One bit - the most fiddly! - done :D. I have to get everything done before Wednesday really as we are going away again. That's not long really, is it?!

Done! Thank goodness. I think I bit off more than I can chew with this one.

Not totally happy with the finished product so apologies to my swappee for dodgy dodgy sewing... I think it looks OK from a distance but doesn't stand much scrutiny up close! If there is a next time I will have to make sure I pick something to do where my sewing can be hidden!

Off to Auspost website now to explore express shipping options...

I know exactly what you mean emzit. My RSI kicked off and my hand wasn't behaving great when I finished mine so I'm worried about the finish too. Ever since I posted mine I've been anxious.

I got a note about a parcel today! It could be something I've ordered as there's been a lot lately but I *think* it's from my swapper!

I might have already said but I'm the same about the finish on my. My practises were great but I got really nervous and shaky working on the finished pieces as opposed to scraps...

Done, wrapped, now just need to post. What is it with practice runs going really well then the actual one with the nice colours looking a little bit pants?!

I am relying on the fact that it is just really nice to receive a gift in the post, even one made with more goodwill than any discernible skill :D

Eta excited about getting a parcel now, and good luck to anyone still finishing off :)

I'm going to say the same thing I say every swap now. Please all stop beating yourselves up about whether something is 'good enough'. Of course it is.
a) Something is arriving in the post and its a surprise you don't know whats inside. This is a lovely special feeling.
b) Someone has spent time and energy making something especially for you/your child/ren. They've thought about what you may like and then tried to achieve this. As mummies we can sometimes feel like we're at the back of the queue when it comes to getting attention. Someone thought about me, warm fuzzy special feeling.
c) Whatever is inside that package will be awesome because its been made just for you, unperfect finishings often add to an items charm.
and finally d) Your recipient can't see how you pictured the result of your labours, they can only see the great final product.

Be proud of yourselves and enjoy it!
Love all round.
