Great British Sewing Bee - Series 2 Applicants

Because BLW isn't just for lentil-weavers. Some of us like to piddle about with bits of felt and sticky-backed plastic as well.

Ok, not sure what it actually is but you're very talented - apply, apply!

TF, you have to apply! You make amazing stuff! I am in awe of your sewing. Lets see: shirts with collars? Check. Beautiful dresses? Check. Working with silk? Check. Individual style? Check.

Just get on and fill in the form.

Disco, I don't know your work so much, but I love the idea of a televised BLW sew off!

TF based on your wedding photos alone you have to apply! Given that Stuart (god love him) was more of a curtains and quilts sewer and he got through to the semi final then I see no reason you won't win!

And how cool would it be if in a VT about why you applied you said 'my imaginary friends made me do it'! :D

I can't commit to the filming days as there will be a squishy baby taking up my time (not sure they'd want to see just how well I can sew with a baby on the boob!) so I NEED some of you guys to apply in my place - just to make me feel better about missing out. TF, Lin and Disco should not be given a choice in the matter and then, of course, there's RR, Skip and Kanga who jump to mind before we even start nagging Svea, the quilt queen! How many imaginary people can we get on the telly at once?

I would mention Robyn too but i'm pretty sure she counts as a pro...

Yes, I noticed Disco managed to slip through the bullying net!

Disco, get your name in & TF. It'd be a good time I reckon! I'd even watch!

I thought of Lin too. Very sweet of you to suggest me jb but I'd fall at the first hurdle as I don't really do patterns v well! Most of my stuff is online tutorials or nonsense out of my head! I made my self a dress a while ago but it doesn't fit properly round the bust & I don't really know how to fix it! Not sure that would go down well with Patrick! ;)

Well thank you for the compliment JB but I will have the same squishy baby issues as you at that time :)

Oops! That's the other reason I can't do it, my brain has gone on holiday...

If we both promise to apply to Series 3 do you think it will encourage series 2 applicants?

My first ever London theatre wardrobe job was being dep to the woman who is the sewing consultant on the show, and one of her assistants on the tv show has been a dresser when I was a wardrobe dep!
So even if I was even slightly tempted I don't think I could do it, no!
Would love it if one of you lot did though!

She runs a sewing school alongside her theatre work called "The Thrifty Stitcher" in case you want a nose, you might get some clues as to what she's planning for the next series!
