Great British Sewing Bee - Series 2 Applicants

Because BLW isn't just for lentil-weavers. Some of us like to piddle about with bits of felt and sticky-backed plastic as well.

Ooooooh, inside knowledge. That should give any BLW sewists the edge over competitors...

ooh thanks for that bit of info robyn... I'll get round to a wee nose about eventually.

Kanga, You've probably got about 6 months at least to brush up on sewing with patterns, before filming start, you can't let that hold you back!

I'm just catching up on this series! (watching the final as I type!)

Just the thought of making an evening dress in 8 hours puts me off!!! I could make the frock, but not in 8 hours! I remember making a dress out of chiffon and it took about 20 hours to cut out as every time I exhaled the flipping fabric moved!!!

Did anyone apply in the end?? TF - you definitely should have give your fabulous wedding dresses!

Woohoo!

What is your next challenge to get you in training? I reckon your should do a refashion - maybe a charity shop find? - because they seemed to be fairly heavy on that in the first series!

I think you're right SP, need to get trawling the charity shops! Tomorrow night I'm going to make a dress for Elsie in two hours.

Woohooo!!!!! Well done you!

Laurens evening dress in the final was amazing - and in 8 hours! It's the speed that would get me. I can't sew that fast. I try, but end up unpicking more than sewing!!!
