Well dh has created the discworld map today & I'm going to start modelling elephants tomorrow! Really hope it works out how we're hoping!

Discworld cake done :) Can't put it on fb yet as the party is tomorrow but have put pics on Flickr. Dds hello kitty is going to be so simple compared to this! :)

Yes I did zebra and giraffe for The Boy's 3rd birthday and it was surprisingly easy.

And, (((bc))) people have No Idea how much work goes into making a cake look and taste nice. 20 quid is taking the piss in a big way though.

Can't wait to see the Discworld cake.

Does anyone know how i can work out how much cake mix i need to fill my number 2 tin, the recipe that came with it says 3 egg mix- but it dont think that'll be enough.
Mum to B (b.sept 2006) & E (b.sept 2009) and R & A (b.july 2011).

An 8 egg mix (16oz of sugar, marg, flour to 8 eggs) does an 8" cake (in two rounds) of a decent height. Maybe try that and if it isn't deep enough, bake another and sandwich? a 3 egg mix isn't even going to do a decent victoria sponge. Mind you, it does depend on the size of your numbers. The number one I used for my nephew was quite large.

i did a practice run, with a 6 egg mix, but it didnt come out well, im guessing that i need to grease the silicone.

Do you all hate cake now? I started a little business a few months ago making macarons, but I hate them now. Not just the taste, but everything about them. Does this meaning should just quit???
