Donating

Postby Cofa's Tree » 08 Jan 2014, 13:01

I meant to do this over Christmas/New Year but forgot, so I've just donated a belated present to the forum costs fund!

(I wasn't sure if it automatically gets added to the right pot of money or whether someone [Aitch?] has to move it around etc)

Well thank you VERY much, that's really super-kind of you. I haven't looked at the donate stuff for a while (as it's only you that's used it, lol) but i will attend to it now. Wonderful, ta. Funnily enough, no one's using the Amazon link any more, i guess becuase people use apps now.

Next Chrimbo we'll have to get a sticky post up to remind people to do their Christmas amazon shopping by going through the link. Sorry for forgetting this year

If I had money to spare I'd be donating right now, but Times Are Tight. Hopefully soon.

I wouldn't hear of it, you Greenies are amazing in donating your time. Cannot thank you enough. (kinda to the degree that i find it embarrassing and therefore shy away from thanking you at all... which is Ridiculous. I am Ridiculous.)

Thank you.

Talking of greenies... Since the old guard are mostly not here, I think it might be useful to give extended powers to at least a couple of the new guard. Poor ABM was rather overrun with name changes at Christmas. Also, am happy to help if you need more mods.

I've looked into this, though, did Toothy not tell you? You all have EXACTLY the same powers and privs on paper, as it were. The only thing i can think is that the board software has in some way updated itself between the original mods and the later ones, because there used to be a tick box and now there is not.

You see, about the amazon link, I suspect that there are quite a few people who have been using it but the credit doesn't get given/ credited to the site/ forum because these lovely people were not aware that the connection of amazon shopping event to the forum has been "broken" by hitting the browser's back & forth button?

Not know this for sure, but maybe a possible explanation?

I think I've mentioned this here somewhere before. I know of this possible cause because when I want my german amazon's purchases being credited back to a loyalty card of some sort I also had to click through a link in the card's website the make.absolutely.sure that I stay away from the back/ forward buttons of my browser until I've paid up & got the purchase confirmation as otherwise the loyalty card's link will no longer be honored & my credit will not be given by amazon.

Bit of a faff, but worth a try/ put up a sticky reminder alongside the link?
