Do you want us to report the food-room posts?

Postby Laura Tyewa » 13 May 2013, 05:18

I've just been ignoring them, but do you want us to report them, *then* ignore them?

Can you Mods ban the word 'k*****n' from titles of threads? You know, like you can some swear words? (or can you?). It's not something that comes up very often in real thread titles.
Mummy to 3 scrumptious BLWers, who sometimes rebel + ask for spoonfeeding (2007, 2010, 2013). Antilop chair, slings, cloth nappies, no steam mop but awaiting permission for special handshake which probably involves porridge.

I think Jem was looking into how to block them.

There is an insane amount at the moment! One of the mods did say Jem was looking into it.

Please report & ignore as I often don't see them all on my active list. I'm trying to keep up to date with deleting them!!

Jem was trying to work out a solution but hasn't so far although banning the word gets my vote

Except they're getting sneaky - one this morning had gaps between each letter in the word.

I'm happy to blitz some if some extra mod-like creatures are needed for that purpose.

I often see them right when they appear, so if killing them as soon as they pop up is helpful I'd be happy to help.

If they're trying to up their Google ranking by having lots of links to their site, would it help to disable links? Or, say, make it so new members can't post links until they've been recognized as real people by a mod? Then at least the spammers would have to post something convincing in the new members board before they could start spamming. It might slow them down a bit . . . .
Saurus (April 2012) wants to open all the cupboards to see the pipes.
Zilla (December 2013) is unstoppable. And really likes pizza.
Turtle (November 2015) isn't cute yet, but he's working on it.
And Mia and Oreo are my emotional support cats.

It's kind of a compliment isn't it, suggests we are a site worth visiting if you want to sell kitchens!
