what's your fav things to do on rainy days?

...people to see. Well, not really. More like 'we went to the Umbrella Museum in Ashby de la Zouch and it was GREAT.' If there is such a thing, that is.

what's your fav things to do on rainy days?

Activity trail in the living room? Upturned chairs to climb, scarves lined up to walk across, pillow tunnels.. Or general blanket castle building. Though tbh being inside all day would kill me, I would raingear up and go outside.. So you have my sympathies!

I never stay in, I'm afraid. We just get dressed for the rain and continue as normal. it's best to get dressed for the long haul (ie easier to be out all morning/ afternoon- make sure the clothes will cope - than go out for short spurts.

Blanket castles that will be fun for a couple hours because it gets the imaginations going! Unfortunately we can't rain gear up since some of kids I nanny and dad only sent them with shorts and flip flops!

A den, full of cushions and books and an indoor picnic.

A random midday bath with unusual toys accompanying us.

Baking/cooking.

Digging at the back of the cupboard for toys we haven't seen in a while.

Or we just hot tail it to the library.

In that case, when we are stuck in (illness/ deliveries etc.), we cook and clean! (Could you get away with that? We all have 'jobs' and make a Big Thing of it so it seems like an activity.

Arts and Crafts. I am now at the lucky stage of being able to lay thing out on the dining room table and DD1 will spend all morning there. DD2 needs playdough, drawing and sticking only amuse her for about 10 minutes.

Baking/cooking is always popular as well. And, as others have already said, building dens.

I also have some 'active' toys that are OK for inside so they tend to taken out when they need to use some energy. We have a hobby horse and space hopper (that is only used inside) as well as some pulling and pushing toys which they still like and some bean bags which they like to try and throw into a basket.

I love to stay in home and sleep on a rainy day. I like to eat hot food and watching tv etc... Thanks for your posting.

We usually end up baking. But building dens is good, and junk models. I hate junk modelling (and the resulting treasures) but the girls love doing it.

Craft - drawing, painting (yesterday Fluff and I painted a huge rocket), playdoh, 'collardarge' (as they put it) etc.
Baking, although we've been doing that less recently (as I eat too much of the resulting cake).
Reading books cuddled up under a blanket on the sofa.
Dancing to random music from my youth.
Jigsaw puzzles.

I'm lucky though as F and S are very good at entertaining themselves (tons of imaginary play) and are also now old enough to get on with things while I half-do-something-else.
My peas are gone as well as my marbles.

Food trip!!! But kids also love to play "house". We make them house using blanket. My other nephew (18months)even uses the blanket to hide him self and want to scare us saying "mooooo" ,..and when he did succeed to scar us (which we portray) he will be laughing and will hide in the blanket again..LOL :D :D Anyway. Kids love pancake with lots of milk during rainy days!!
