where in Kent?

My friend is getting married in Kent in June and we're planning to camp down there for a week afterwards. Can anyone recommend an area or even a campsite? We'd love to be able to do at least a couple of day trips without the car and we want to spend a bit of time on the beach. I'd like to go to Leeds castle and Snarfy would love to go on a steam train

Steam trains in Tenterden - a nice town for browsing antiques shops and drinking coffee plus a big playpark for little ones:

Leeds Castle at Junction 8 of M20

Not sure about camp sites ... never been myself but have heard good things about this one and I know where it is, very rural:

This campsite is near to all of the above as well as some nice beaches at St Marys Bay ... and 30 mins from Camber Sands. Plus in this part of the world you have the zoo at Port Lympe for a trip plus Rye is well worth a visit.

We had a good time on the steam train from Tenterden, it goes to Bodiam Castle which is nice as well - we didn't actually go in the castle this time as we've been before but still enjoyed walking round the outside and looking at the ducks and huge fish in the moat before going back on the train.

Depending on what part of Kent you end up in, another nice place to go is Bedgebury Pinetum, just over in East Sussex, good walks and adventure playgrounds. I've also heard that Woodchurch Rare Breeds Farm is a good day out, although I've not been for about 20 years!

Afraid I've no idea about campsites. Whereabouts is the wedding?
