Has anyone ever experienced a bruised feeling in the lower legs...

I keep getting a feeling just above my ankles to halfway up my legs that makes me feel like I'm been kicked and there's a massive bruise being pressed on. Really achy and horrible

CC - I have what feels like bruises at the joints of my knees and my ankles - I think it's a combo of muscles getting tight and swelling, and my body not wanting to hold up all the extra weight I have been putting on.

But something that comes in like being kicked? Not one I've noticed, sorry. :(

Treeb, you ARE my forum twin! Which hypno book did you get? I've just finished Natal Hypnotherapy, which I really liked, although I'm struggling to practise the cd often enough. I have also found that I usually fall asleep, at least it's relaxing, if nothing else! Would love to do a course, but it's just too expensive, and DH wouldn't be committed enough to do it justice. Will be interested to hear how you get on. I don't know if any of you saw the BBC programme on birthing on Tue night - the one lady was using hypno birthing and appeared to have an incredibly peaceful home water birth. I wasn't entirely convinced by the placenta smoothies though - and definitely not the lotus birthing! (Hadn't come across it before, but am not feeling the urge to convert).

Caelacoo, I'm sorry about your legs - are you getting much cramp, could it be the after-effects of that? We've said it before, there is nothing glamorous about pregnancy.

No no cramping just a bruised feeling. It can happen if I'm standing about but when I'm not doing anything either.

It feels quite painful sometimes

Christ child what on earth are you up to?

You haven't stopped thrashing for 2 hours now and its getting painful. You are also giving me terrible gas that is grossing even me out

Please settle down....its nice to know your there but seriously do all 4 limbs and body need to talk too? A kick is enough no need for roly polys

Cc I am suffering a bit from over active baby tonight too... Maybe it was the wine :mona my legs also have a similar bruised feeling and are tender, just think it's normal aches..? I do actually have a massive bruise on the side of my knee where I slipped in the shower, but the feeling is lower down.

Sitting with feet up seems to be helping a bit.

I have lost my Hb book, where could it be?? Need to start reading again, have done it twice before just with the book and it is fab.

Mindy, the book I got is HypnoBirthing: The Mongan Method.

Cc, I think I am in for some of those crazy movements in the near future! This little girl seems super active and always seems to be doing flips and moving her whole body. She's not big enough yet for any of it to be painful, but it's only a matter of time!

t&n's mummy, I was just thinking yesterday that some wine sounded really nice. I don't usually drink much while pregnant, just a few sips of dh's drinks when he has some beer or wine, but that usually ends up with me wishing I could have a bit more. How much does everyone consider safe while pregnant?

I asked my mw about it as this always seems to be changing... She said a glass of wine with dinner a couple of times a week is absolutely fine and in the final weeks, a glass for relaxation is very much encouraged :) I have half with dinner and half after t and n are in bed.

Had a nice long series of short (20-40s) contractions on top of each other last night. Not fun. Trying to figure out if I should relax more (ha! can't sleep, on bed rest and keep napping, creating a bad cycle) or see if I can't get something moving (only 37w2d by 20week u/s) BP was 140/90 this morning, so half thinking I'll see what lunchtime brings for pressure. :)

I had an antenatal class on pain relief on Friday, and a couple of friends have been telling me about the wonders of hypnobirthing, so wondering if I should get a book? Any recommendations? I do have a CD which my sister gave me, which annoyingly I can only listen to in one room because we've gone over to high-tech wireless music systems in most of the house and I daren't try and upload it, so I've only managed half of it. But yes, must get a move on. Am now 34 weeks, and last time I had babies at 35 weeks, so it really isn't long now.

I've been using the Natal Hypnotherapy book and cd - the pan pipes on the cd are mildly irritating, but I really like the ethos and the way she describes the stages of labour. Don't get enough time to practice it, sadly.....

I have the Marie Mongan book which I really like, dh read from it during labour which was great to help me tune in to it and gave him a job. I just read the book, I don't have stuff to listen to, works for me.

I'm reading Effective Birth Preparation which is great. Lots of positive birth stories. Also quite a persistent sell on the accompanying cd but I think I will persevere without. The thought alone fills me with utter panic, I don't know what I'd do without my DH.
