She is here! Feeling incredibly blessed.

Postby Riotproof » 06 Jan 2015, 07:37

Miss T arrived on Monday afternoon after a scan showed a jumble of cord ahead of her in the cervix. We aren't sure how long it was like that, because it wasn't visible from internal exams.

So, 29 and 6 days. I almost got my 30 weeks gestation. She is doing brilliantly, breathing on her own, responding as they want. We are trying a little milk tomorrow I think. They were close on her estimates 1.290 kilo, so not far from her go home criteria weight of 1.8. She has to be effectively sucking and able to manage her body temperature as well, so for us, it's likely to be around 35 weeks.

I have not held her yet, but I have held her hand. We are so unbelievably blessed. Unbelievably so. I almost think it must be a dream, and then I watch her video one more time.

I will always remember lying in that operating theatre and hearing her cry. All I could think was omg, I have a daughter. I do, and she is beautiful.

Thank you all so much for all your support. Everyone of you has helped when I felt overwhelmed with fear. I am just so grateful for you.

I had totally forgotten how much a caesarean hurts afterwards though, but apparently the after birth pains do make it worse.

Oh wow. Congratulations a zillion times over. I have a tear in my eye reading your wonderful post, despite already having seen on fb! Such joy and wonder in your words.

Well done to you and to Miss T (great name, btw, was one I really pushed for with little Croc). She sounds like a trooper and I'm sure you'll be holding her in your arms before you know it.

Happy days.

More tears here too. Massive congratulations and well done to both of you. From her weight and the fact she is breathing on her own you have clearly done an amazing job and should be very proud of yourself. I am so so happy you have finally met her and held her hand xx
