Showing much earlier - MUCH EARLIER - with 3rd!

Postby mindy » 01 Nov 2014, 17:42

At only 7 weeks, I am already thickening round the middle and my clothes are sitting differently. Everything feels uncomfortable. Surely this is much too early? There's no getting away from the fact I've been grazing to quell the nausea, and have gained 2 lbs purely through gluttony, but I am doing Pilates and running weekly, and thought it wouldn't happen so soon!

Any comments from those of you who've had 3? Is it my age too - having just turned 40, things are definitely not as springy as they were!

Yep here too & I hope not age related as I'm 31. By 9 weeks with no3 we had 2 people ask if I was pregnant (one said or had I eaten too many doughnuts!) All through the pregnancy the midwives have been saying 'well of course with a third there's no muscle tone to hold things in place' with regards to ligament pain/bump size/baby turning breech etc. not a great thing to be told though!!

I've been curious about this too. I'm I nly on number two, with an 8 year gap since my first and I'm 29, but I definitely felt huge and incredibly uncomfortable in my clothes, particularly when sitting down all day in my work clothes, since very early on. I was worried I was going to be really showing early on, but I'm nearly 12 weeks now and if anything I think the discomfort and tightness has eased a bit. I'm still having to undo my jeans by the end of the day but it hasn't got any worse since 6/7 weeks iyswim. I'm looking forward to having a proper little bump, as opposed to just looking like I've had too much cake!

I did with number 2! I wanted my maternity clothes at 6 weeks but held off (with the help of leggings and dresses) until 10 weeks!!!

Glad I'm not just a porker! Perhaps it will slow down a bit now, am reassured by your comments RR. It's quite disconcerting when you read that your uterus is only the size of a lemon at 7 weeks - so why is my tum so high? It's a funny thing, pregnancy.

I think the muscles are just not as strong, and things move up a bit quicker. I was wearing maternity pants at 10 weeks, even though the bump was not that big, where my pants sit was quite bloated.
