How're you holding up Kanga? I hope your lo decides to come soon!

Thinking of you too Fozza. How is everything going?

I'm starting to feel a lot more nausea, though thankfully no vomiting yet. It's basically just a constant low level of nausea, and definitely worst when I haven't eating in a while though eating often doesn't seem to relieve it at all. It doesn't seem to make a difference what I eat, the type of food doesn't seem to make it any better or worse. No specific food aversions although I'm feeling just generally apathetic towards food and not really wanting much, but I know I need to eat to at least keep away some of the nausea. I'm definitely feeling it way more than I did when I was pregnant with L. I'm pretty sure there's some old wives tale that says that more nausea means it's a girl this time (or maybe twins?!) but we'll just have to wait to find out about that. My first scan is in a week to check dates.

Did anyone bring your older lo along to your scans? L will be coming along with us. We haven't told him I'm pregnant yet, but we have been talking a bit about pregnancy in general and how he grew in my tummy and how I might grow another baby "some day" and he seems pretty interested in the idea of it. We'll probably tell him I am pregnant the night before the scan as we usually have a little chat at bed time about what we've done that day and what we are planning to do the next day, so we'll explain how we're going to the hospital to have a look at the tiny new baby growing in Mommy's tummy. I don't think he'll be upset by it, I just hope he isn't too much of a handful for dh while the scan is going on and dh can actually get a look at the baby!

Hope the nausea eases soon Treeb. Our hospital doesn't allow children to come to scans (one adult only) but B came to a private gender scan we had at 17 weeks and she's still talking about it. The sonographer was lovely and made her feel involved.

It might be worth calling the hospital first to check their policy, Treeb. Ours doesn't allow you to bring young children into the scan room - I went to my dating scan on my own, and whether DH comes along to the anomaly scan will depend on whether we can arrange childcare (although it may well turn out to be a moot point anyway, if he's working).

Thanks p_h and Lily - it hadn't even occurred to me that he may not be allowed! I called the hospital and thankfully they said it is fine for him to be there. Dh would have been heartbroken if he didn't get to go in because he was busy watching L!

Hope things start soon Kanga! I'm flagging in a big way. The house is chaos. I'm seriously wiped out, and have no motivation to do anything much. I'm bored out of my mind at work, just counting the hours, which I've never been like before, and I feel a bit overwhelmed by how tired I am. Thankfully no longer feeling sick which is a mercy, but I'd rather expected the exhaustion to have slowed a bit by now. Anyone else still bone tired at 10 weeks?

I was but it did get easier soon. I think it helped my iron levels are so much better this time.

Two more days til the scan. Pressure is getting to me and I'm pushing DH away incase to goes wrong (that and just everything he does just plain annoys me!). Not sure he gets that rationale...but he should just accept it because I'm pg, right?

(((Fozza))) hope the next 2 days go quickly & dh is sensitive to how you feel. Pregnancy is definitely a good enough excuse, let alone everything else!!

I'm still here anyway, didn't sleep well last night so kind of hoping I can try & get some rest tonight before anything happens!

((((Hugs to all)))) hope things move soon, kanga!

I'm feeling fat and frustrated. Had about a month of feeling quite good - so called second trimester energy boost didn't start till 21 weeks, and seems to have vanished again at 26!! Back to daytime naps, a house that's shameful, and far too much cbeebies for munchkin.

Weepy and pathetic too - am totally doing DH's nut in (and my own at times!).
Roll on half term where I get three full days of munchkin in nursery to a) rest, and b) sort out assorted messes that are stressing me out (and build nursery furniture, obvs...).

On plus side, found birthing ball and pump in garage today, so shall be inflating that soon!

Am I the only mother in the world who hasn't thought about a nursery for no.2? Mine is definitely neglected ;)

Our house is up for sale and at present the only room that could be a nursery is one I wouldn't really want him in as it's on a different floor (townhouse). I'm hoping we will have moved by the time he is out of a crib in our room. Fingers crossed.

Hello!

Can I join in? (a bit late admitely!) I'm 33 weeks now - 3 weeks away from starting mat leave! So I think I'm next after you Kanga!
I was in the ttc thread and I've been lurking here....but, after interesting times with our first baby and a trip to specialist hospital after 20 week scan I'm just now feeling brave enough to join in after a positive growth scan yesterday! Baby's still small, but so was Toots and consultant yesterday wasn't worried:)

NK - I had about 4 weeks of energy and am now deep in 3rd trimester fatigue :?
p_h - we have no nursery! Baby will be in with us for at least 6 months and will probably end up sharing with big sister, so no point really! I haven't even bought the stuff I think I need yet-leaving it all to mat leave!

Ours will not have a nursery till we convert our loft. Not sure sibling room sharing will work with an 8 year age gap so he/she will just be in with us for the time being.

We do have slightly unconventional plans for mat leave though.... We're planning to rent the house out and travel round europe in a caravan, so minimal stuff is the goal really. Without wanting to sound like a total brat, I'm really dreading being inundated with loads of stuff that we don't need and don't have space for. I already have nappies although they need new wraps, I've been promised a car seat, and I still have my pocket sling and mei tai which I loved. Will probably invest in a moby. I'm wondering at the moment if I can get through the first few months without a pram so I can go straight to a maclaren type one at 3-6 months. Anyone managed without a buggy/pram in the early days?

Hi treek! :)

We don't have a nursery as such, it will be sharing with ds most likely but in with us until at least the new year so we're not really thinking about it.

Rr, we had a pram for ds but didn't use it much in the early days. I'm sure you'd be able to manage without. Especially if you have a variety of slings! :)
