I've had another look, and that's the 2014 one, so I think perhaps I'll start a new one for 2015. Will put in the people I know about - if I leave you out, please post and don't be offended! I have a crappy memory...

I had my first prenatal appointment today, although as I suspected it was rather useless since I am only 6 weeks. He had me pee in a cup to confirm the pregnancy but besides that it was just basic weight/blood pressure/etc. and a few questions asked. But at least the ball is now rolling for the rest of my prenatal care!

Will be going to have blood drawn this weekend to check for whatever it is they check in early pregnancy. In two weeks is my first ultrasound/dating scan, when I should be just 8 weeks along, then my first real exam with the doctor the following week.

So far this is looking like a very boring and uneventful pregnancy, just like last time, which I am thankful for! Minimal nausea, mostly just feeling tired and my breasts are still very sore. I'm having just enough symptoms to believe that I am actually pregnant, without it really affecting my daily life at all yet.

(((Fozza))) the scan must be soon if you're 20 weeks already?

(((Fozza))) I hope your scan is soon and you can get some reassurance from it.

I'm feeling annoyed with pregnancy hormones today, mostly because I seem to be about six times more oily than usual! I normally shower every other day and my hair doesn't really get that greasy even after two days, but now by a day and a half my face and hair are absolutely disgustingly oily. The other night dh even came over and touched my hair and was like "Oh, I thought your hair looked wet but I guess you just need a shower." :o Looks like I am going to have to switch to daily showers which is a bit of a pain. I always feel like showers are somehow a waste of time when I could be doing something better/more productive. (Like posting on forums?)

(((Treeb))) That sounds like a pain!

I'm still vomiting and on meds but feeling a bit brighter, finally. I saw my midwife this morning and heard baby's heartbeat. She didn't bother measuring my fundal height and just said 'well you're having scans so I assume they're monitoring it', ha, lazy as ever. I had to remind her that I needed my MAT B1 form today and when she gave it to me she said 'now, is there anything else I need to give you?' Omg.

In other news I drove past a man this morning who looked just like Ryan Gosling (to my pregnant brain, anyway) and I nearly jumped out the car before remembering I was married and pregnant (only joking ;)). The poor man probably thought why is that weird pregnant lady gawping at me, do I have something on my face? I am blaming the baby boy on board for the testosterone increase, my poor DH doesn't see any of it as he gets up at 5:30am for work and once B is in bed at 7pm I am wiped out!

Sympathies with your lazy midwife PH, but Im so glad the tablets are holding the sickness slightly at bay.

I rang our children's centre on Monday to request a booking appointment and was told I would be rung the next day. No contact, so I just rang again to be told I should expect an appointment letter to arrive within a fortnight but they won't want to see me until about 10 weeks - is this routine now? After having the early miscarriage in July, I was hoping to see someone fairly early on - am I being unrealistic in today's climate of scarce resources? I'm only 5 weeks at the moment, 10 weeks seems years away!

I think I was seen at 10, 8 and 8 weeks for booking appts, but without any mc history. Did you tell them about the mc? If they still won't see you earlier maybe the gp could refer you for an early scan?

I was seen at 8 weeks. My early miscarriage made no difference; they said I had to have had three for it to have made a difference, but I'm not sure if that's area-specific?

I had a very brief mw meeting at 5 weeks, which would have been 7w based on lmp, and was booked in for an early scan to confirm dates (I was right!) and then full booking in appointment at 8/9 weeks. I would phone up again and get them to check as that seems late.
