With dd the mw found the heartbeat at 11weeks. This one we were told at 18 weeks she wasn't supposed to try but could if we wanted, but she couldn't find it so we have only heard it once at 28 weeks!!

As for 2 children playing together, I am still living in hope ds and the new will be better as they are closer in age. I think at the mo 4 years has too many differences for them to agree on what to do. They do have moments but then usually ds acts like a 2 year old & dd can't deal with him knocking down her masterpiece/rubbing out her chalk picture etc! My mum is taking them out today though so that will help :)

I am so sick of feeling sick :( every room in my house makes me gag, to the extent I'm often a little bit sick. The kitchen's the worst - I baked with A today which was lovely bit I gagged every 2 minutes. I can't cook because that makes me sick - poor A is living out of the freezer on my tea days. I'm sick every few days, often at work which really is wearing a bit thin. I can't eat actual food - although cheese and beetroot butties are working for me this week, which is something at least. I just feel bleurgh. 12 weeks this week, please forum vibes, let it start to pass. Til then, I'm drinking rhurbarb tea and eating 2 kinds of cake. That's OK, isn't it...?

Whatever it takes to get you through nearlymum, I hope the end of sickness is on its way for you. I met my midwife today. She is an interesting lady, a dog breeder who regaled me with dog tales, including a traumatic dog birth that involved her pushing for a Caesar that saved the dog's life! But the best bit was I got to hear the baby's heartbeat. What a sweet sweet sound.

(((nearlymum))) Poor you, it's so rough. Eat and drink whatever you can get down, baby will be absolutely fine regardless. Hopefully it will start to ease soon as the placenta takes over. Rest as much as you can x

Yay nm!

Pregzilla is on the loose here. I usually sleep at this time but DH's sister and her feral children are coming round. I made DH take the afternoon off - his sister he can entertain her right? - and now he is sitting next to me munching crisps like a horse crunching polo mints. And the worst sin of all - putting a crisp in his mouth then taking a bite of sandwich. Just gross and wrong. At least put your crisp IN the sandwich. And go and eat downstairs while you're at it, you're getting on my nerves :scream And I have a headache :scream

It's only once a year it's only once a year it's only once a year.

Massive hugs p_h. I think you should just hibernate in your bedroom for the entirety of the visit. When else are you going to have such a good reason to dodge the sil?

Oh ph that sounds awful! Hope you sent him downstairs.

And yay for scans nearlymum! Very exciting! I am still at the it-doesn't-feel-real-yet stage, got my booking-in this weekend but despite feeling utterly knackered, over-emotional, bloated, the whole first-trimester bit, I still have a sneaking feeling that somehow I might just have made it all up.

It's over. The children have ransacked my house (is it just me that thinks it's a bit rude to run all over someone's house and go through their iPads/kindles without asking?) and the SIL has shown off suitably about her new house with celebrity neighbours (yawn) and how much her three holidays cost (yawn again).

Did nearly fall off my chair when the SIL said that they went on a farm holiday and the children were surprised to learn that eggs came from chickens. They are 12 and 9. Living in London is an excuse for this apparently.

Eggs come from chickens? I thought chickens came from eggs ;P

Glad it's over P_H, and yes that is rude of her letting her kids ransack the place. Especially at that age! Toddlers maybe but that age should know how to behave in other peoples houses!

I hate it when vom comes out my nose. I hate it when I can't reach the sink in time and have to clean vom off the cupboards. Boo hoo :(

On the plus side, my lovely mummy and DH have clubbed together to pay for a private gender scan tomorrow to make me smile :)
