Sensitive hearing in pregnancy?

Postby Jaymlin » 29 Mar 2014, 22:27

Is it possible for your hearing to become sensitive in pregnancy? I don't normally have any problems with my hearing but today sound from the tv, radio and phones have all sounded loud today and have made me flinch a bit. I visited my sister today and had to ask her children to turn the tv down in the lounge, BIL to turn the music down in the adult's sitting room, the radio turned down when bathing DD and cousins and then DP when he tried to show me a video on youtube.
Has anyone else experienced this in pregnancy before?

I def had that in early labour but can't remember about pregnancy. Maybe is hormone related? Sounds frustrating, hope it resolves soon.

Oh yes, I got this too. I joke with DH that it's my supersonic mamma hearing developing although it is quite annoying at times. Some days are better than others xx

Thanks JW and FT. Glad to know it's not just me.

The tv is on quiet this morning and seems to be ok.

Totally. Though I don't think it's down to my hearing per se, more to poor quality of sleep.. fatigue ==> sensory overload comes more easily..

I've had the opposite, either that or dh is deliberately speaking really quietly. It's only happened when some people have spoken to me and I've just been like "What??? I can't understand a word you're saying" lol
