Reassure me!

Postby Biddy » 23 Feb 2014, 09:46

I'm sure I'm being ridiculous, but I'm feeling paranoid that all is not as it should be with this pregnancy. I'm 11 weeks now but there's no sign of a bump yet. With a first pregnancy I wouldn't expect a bump at this stage, but this is my 3rd (4th if you include MC).
When I was pg with A I definitely had a little bump appearing by now (I was quite shocked at the size of the bump actually!) and it felt very solid. Even with S there was no bump yet but that area felt solid and wasn't easy to press in. This time there's nothing and it's still very soft when I press it.

I have lots if pregnancy symptoms: still feeling a bit nauseous, still off certain foods and smells, mouth ulcers, emotional, excessive wind (sorry!), tiredness, zero libido :scream poor DH. I haven't had any cramping or bleeding. Surely if the baby had died and stopped growing my symptoms would've changed??

I'm booking my scan this week and I'm trying not to worry until I've had it done. Tell me I'm being silly?

((((biddy)))) you are being silly.

With A I had a "bump" around 10 weeks, but it was because I was bloated. I didn't hve one when I woke up in the morning, but by the evening It was huge.. just gas or retained water or whatever...
I bet in 3-4 weeks you'll start to see something. Its so early.

good luck for your scan. xx

I didn't get my bump until about 14 weeks with this one. He was just a little bit better at hiding.

I'm sure everything is fine biddy. Hope you get a scan date soon though.

I was actually going to sneak in with a similar thread. I am almost 6 weeks now so I know it's very early but it's all still so surreal. Not really feeling sicky yet so I keep forgetting it's even happening! Sure I'll be back complaining of sickness soon! ;)

Biddy,.think I was actually in normal clothes longer this time too. Was a bit surprised but guess every pregnancy is different. Hope scan is all fine, of course. X

I was in Poland for a week when I was 16 weeks pg with C- no bump and normal clothes. It was only after we came back it 'suddenly' appeared :) It's all fine, don't worry!

(((biddy))) I felt exactly the same with this pregnancy. Even though I was so sick I was so sure it wasn't right...mostly because I had no bump at 11 weeks, and I definitely had one with DS. At that time I posted very similar to what you have, and lots of people said they felt the same.

I think it's hard to feel relaxed until you've had the scan. ((())) try to relax until the scan is done.

Biddy- with Big E, I was in maternity clothes by 7 weeks and had a huge bleed at 6 weeks.

With Little E, I had no sign of bleeding at all and lasted until 16/17 weeks before I needed to pull out the ol' elasticated waistbands!

Thinking of you x

Thanks everyone it's definitely reassuring to hear others have had the same experience. I definitely *feel* pregnant today despite no bump, exhausted and ravenous and grumpy!

Ooo Kanga I missed your announcement too :bsmile congratulations!

I didn't go into maternity clothes until 20 weeks wih both of mine. I think I did started wearing jeans a size bigger than usual at some point though. I'm not that slim so it always takes a while for a proper bump to emerge.

Glad (if that's not mean!!) you're feeling like that today biddy. The only thing I'm going on at the mo is the extreme tiredness. And I was very tearful yesterday but often am anyway!!

I did go into mat clothes earlier with this one despite having no bump or thickening waist - I just couldn't stand anything restrictive. I found it made the morning sickness worse. Felt a fraud though as there definitely was no bump (unless you counted my own jelly belly!)
