Niggling pain

Postby Biddy » 06 Feb 2014, 09:43

Since yesterday morning I've had a niggling pain in what feels like the area of my left ovary. It's a sharp pain but not strong. I don't know if I should be concerned about it or not? I presume it's too late now for an ectopic? I would've thought baby would be much too big now and if it was an ectopic I imagine it would be more painful. I guess I just want some reassurance on that front!

Hope you're feeling ok. Growing pains as ligaments stretch? X

I did think about that but it feels different. And it's in one precise point all the time.

Call a midwife? Better safe than sorry.
After attending an ANC session yesterday I spent most of the night convinced I couldn't feel the baby move. It's only now I'm calming down but I'd totally be calling someone if I was worried still.

Hope it's ok and let us know. X

Well, the pain still comes back on and off, it certainly hasn't got any worse. I've hardly felt it today so I think I'll just put it down to more weird pregnancy aches and pains. Maybe it's a wind thing.

How many weeks are you Biddy? I had an ectopic in October and wasn't really in any great pain other than what I would also describe as a consistent niggle on my right ovary side, plus a light bleeding - I nearly didn't bother going to the doctors cos it seemed too much hassle at the time and I'd had what I thought were similar pains and blood loss when I was pregnant with Daniel and had been sent to the EPU then and all was fine, so I just assumed all would be fine this time too.

I don't want to be alarmist because it most likely is all absolutely fine but if it continues please go and get it checked out if you have any concerns x

I'm 9 weeks now. I don't know much about ectopic but I would've thought it would've happened before now? The foetus is too big now surely?

Last time round I had a niggly ovary pain, then some bleeding. Went to EPU (at 8ish weeks) amd they said that sometimes the ovary 'responsible' for the egg that was fertilised can become inflamed a little and you can feel it. Fingers crossed thats all it is for yo. I'd get it chcked out though.

Hmmm I would get it checked out but there's no pain at all today and I haven't had any bleeding. It's very difficult for me to get anywhere as I have no car and nobody to take care of the LOs. I think I'll just see how it goes. If the pain comes back or if I have any bleeding then I'll go and see someone, will just have to bring the LOs with me!
