That's a bit rude of people! But who wants a name everyone else has anyway?

I'm probably being oversensitive -- it's more of an "oh, isn't that... unusual" reaction than an "oh my, that's terrible" reaction. You can't swing a cat without hitting a Jayden, Aiden or Hayden around here (we even have a Raiden in playgroup), none of which are to my taste at all, so I don't feel too bad.

I was gutted when there were a few names very similar to the puppy's after he was born. We even changed his.diminutive to make his different.

BM, love the rhyming names though. Hilarious. Maybe SJ could pick a couple of those???

Did you decide on a name for the tadpole, StJ?

We're struggling to think of a boys name so I'm going through old naming threads!

We are at an impasse between James and Robert. We agreed to decide when we meet him.

That's what we did - had a short list then decided. Though both are good strong names.

Would you consider having the name you don't pick as a middle name (though be wary of people calling him Jim Bob!)

We have a clear forerunner for a boys name. It was one we had on the list. It's an unusual name and not common, yet we encountered it twice in one day, within hours of finding out some interesting news. I'm thinking its a sign and it's has grown on me.
Mum to Roo born Feb 2011 and Wee One born April 2014 - each one a miracle.

James is the boys name we would pick if I (fingers crossed) were to fall pregnant in the future, and my husband, a Carter fan, is adamant he'll call him Jim Bob!

This is my strongest argument in favour of Robert :D The other is how darling it is when P says "Wobbie".

I also like Ezra for a middle name, and I suggested Ebenezer but DH mocked that right into the dust.

I love Ezra but Mr.C banned it. He wanted Laszlo for a boy. Thankfully we're having a girl as.I was going to have to pull the birthing card on that one!

Surely you'd have to have another one to call Fruitbat as well

So tonight we were eating out and P's meal came with a Kinder egg. I figure I'd use it as bait and get him to say "Wobbie" for DH, and we were both enjoying it so made him say it several times before giving him the egg. He opens it up, all awestruck because he's never seen such a thing before, and when he gets to the toy inside... he exclaims in wonder, "Oh, wobbie!" I guess he figured that's why we were making such a fuss over that word!

They're both lovely StJ! I especially love James! There's a reason I can't use it but I think I would if I could, if that makes sense!
