Creche

Don't panic, it's not tonight. Every so often we arrange to meet up online and talk rubbish. Not so different from the day-to-day, but with more people. Yes, it sounds naff, but just you wait... it's also oddly satisfying.

Any friends for me? Mum is totally ignoring me while she has her hair cut, and I've seen this episode of Ben and Holly a MILLION times.

<L & J, in bed sound asleep>

WHAT? A PARTY? IS THERE CAKE? Mum never told us, just insisted we were tired and needed to go to bed early. THAT's NOT FAIR.

My Daddy just cut LOADS of my Mummy's hair off and she looks totally different and I've gone all shy of her now!

Well I got 2hrs 45mins before wailling, quick right boob and he is (crosses fingers) settled again - really must get into this night weaning thing at some point.

Mmm, been there. If it helps any, if you leave it long enough he may get there by himself. Not wanting to count any chickens (touch wood touch wood touch wood), but the last few nights, at nearly 18 months, monkeybaby has skipped the night feed more often than not. He's still woken up and come into bed with us, but I have wondrous ideas that I may at some point get a full night in bed because DH would be able to fetch and settle him.

Loads of hugs - until monkeybaby was almost 12 months, every 2 hours was the norm. I'd have cried with relief to get 4 hours sleep in a row. But he gradually got better, went down to 2 feeds a night, then mostly just 1, and now he seems to be dropping that. I know other parents who've successfully and gently night weaned, but I just couldn't face the distress I'd have got from him...I'm so very glad he seems to be getting there on his own eventually.
