Nibbles

Don't panic, it's not tonight. Every so often we arrange to meet up online and talk rubbish. Not so different from the day-to-day, but with more people. Yes, it sounds naff, but just you wait... it's also oddly satisfying.

OK, the crumble's out of the oven - who wants some? There's custard or cream to go with it.

It's got to be cream - I'd happily take ice-cream too, but none of your custard nonsense! DP is always trying to push custard in these situations, but I just don't get it! :?

Bananadad thinks it is hilarious that my family eat ice cream whenever possible with desserts and that cream isn't really that popular. And that at christmas we often have ice cream, cream AND my mums rum sauce with christmas pudding.

I love that the thread about food is the longest one at this party. ha ha.

Snap - that's why there's both :) I do cream, DH does custard.... We're just so incompatible, I drink tea, he has coffee, it's amazing we manage to live together really.

Allie - pretty sure there's no ice cream in the freezer, and if there is it's probably been hidden in the back for some time. :( Ice cream doesn't usually last long.

Chacasta - I'll watch the bake off On Demand during the Pickle's nap on Thursday, and seriosly BNTM rocks (I watch on a Monday though), if you get Living then a good intro will be the next series of ANTM although Tyra looks like she's lost a lot of weight.

Allie I have a recipe for custard creams but they look like they need a fair while to prep and cook, maybe once the Monster is at School.......... I hate cream.
So somehow it happened, my weaners are at school,
I'm still here though and people I'll try to fool,
with tales of advice giving and of wanting to know
But really here's the only place I ever want to go.

Just finished eating a massive roast, am here now I promise! Can I have some crumble please, I'll bring my own ice cream. Custard is evil stuff!!! Plus I need a recipe for crumble please - we have 5 apple trees in the garden (5 - WHY FFS?????) And I've never made crumble before and have no idea what else to do with the bloody things!

Castaway was the tropical one - yeuch!!!! The memories are nearly enough to make me retch. Oh and snakebite and black. YUCK! DP has started drinking cider now and the smell still turns my stomach

Now a cheeky vimto is lurverly.... Blue WKD with a shot of port in the top :D

Oh me too! Although we only have one cooking apple tree...the apples have been falling off & rotting for ages...must get on with picking them & the pears, but no idea what to do with them! I'm more into baking non-fruit things than fruity things.

I've just noticed that the hedge at the bottom of the garden is full of blackberries, so I'm going to try some sort of apple and blackberry desert in the next few days....

Think we did that last year, but the council people have been and chopped down all the blackberry bushes earlier this year, so there's none :( Should have grown back by next year I suppose.
