Coat Check

Don't panic, it's not tonight. Every so often we arrange to meet up online and talk rubbish. Not so different from the day-to-day, but with more people. Yes, it sounds naff, but just you wait... it's also oddly satisfying.

Leave your coat here, beer and any goodies on the table just over there, thanks.

Are you in fancy dress? If not, hope you've got your best party gear on.

I'm just off to put the children to bed and then will be back.

Coat? Coat? Hey, I'm all glammed up, it happens so rarely I want everyone to see - mind you the stumbling home bit may not be so elegant - can I borrow a hoody for that bit?
So somehow it happened, my weaners are at school,
I'm still here though and people I'll try to fool,
with tales of advice giving and of wanting to know
But really here's the only place I ever want to go.

Ooooh make me one while you're at it svea, we've got no sugar and I'm gasping.

I wish I could muster up something fancy-dress but as I never get to go out anymore I'm in the glam camp. Looooots of glitter ;)

Could someone swing by and collect me? I'm stranded with an 11yo, 4yo, 3yo and 5mo. I need rescuing. I'll give half of my divine orange and Ginger chocolate to the first one that gets here.

Squirmy is sick so I've brought her with me for a quick hello (just so I can say I came) and I expect ALL the gossip tomorrow. Didn't someone get pregnant at the last party?!

ok so I have two children in bed, although also one husband kept late at work who didn't take any bike lights with him so will have to get the bus, so I am on re-settling duty for now... grrr

I've failed to find a fancy dress outfit, although I generally look like a scarecrow. In fact I nearly came in a soaking wet t-shirt as Sybil slopped her flannel all down me when she was in the bath.

Tuesdays are supposed to be no beer days around here... perhaps I should just have a virtual vodka and coke.

Excuse me? What the hell is a no beer day? Sounds miserable

Kids both in bed but I'm off to watch the lovely baking prog on BBC2 in a mo cos you just can't beat a good bake off! Will be back later but probably in my PJs. Is that allowed? I might pretend they're fancy dress...

Ok, I can't work it out and can't be bothered to turn the telly on. What does BNTM stand for?

Becarina wrote:Excuse me? What the hell is a no beer day? Sounds miserable

It's a way to limit our weekly alcohol consumption. When we drink, we have the whole bottle (plus maybe a beer before  )

Anyway, bananadad has emailed to say he is on his way home and will want beer as he has had a horrible day at work and can we swap to thursday for the week. So am going to go and pour a big V&C now.

I like the baking programme too but am not watching it as it will make me less confident about ever being good enough to do it myself for a living.
