A really dull question

Postby KateGladTidings » 31 Aug 2012, 10:49

Sorry, too dull to even put on fbook but I need opinions cause my blog is inconsistent and it bugs me.

When writing for the World Outside The Forum, how would you refer to how old your child is? I know here we use 3yo, but how do you write it properly. Sometimes I use 3 year-old, sometimes 3-year old, sometimes three-year-old...it's annoying.Any thoughts? Housekeeping needed!

I believe a hyphen between all three words is correct, as in three-year-old/3-year-old.

Yes, two hyphens is right when it's "my three-year-old" or "our three-year-old daughter", etc. (but you don't need them in "she is three years old").

Agreed. Sometimes I would write 3 year-old, but if it's all words then both hyphens.
